As part of a thesis I am writing at the University of Mons, supervised by Justine Gaugue and co-supervised by Jennifer Denis, I speak at scientific meetings and at events that touch on clinical psychology more broadly.

Les séparations parentales hautement conflictuelles : élaboration d’un cadre théorique et d’un référentiel de compétences professionnelles [High-conflict parental separations: developing a theoretical framework and a competency framework for professionals]
Some parental separations remain highly conflictual long after the break-up. My thesis seeks to understand these situations better, and what the professionals who meet them need in order to intervene.
Thesis started in September 2024 at the University of Mons. Thesis carried out as part of a teaching assistant position at the University of Mons (Faculté de psychologie et des sciences de l’éducation).

Abstract (in French)
Cet article théorico-clinique propose de déplacer la lecture individualisante et décontextualisée que l’on porte habituellement sur le concept de haine vers le contexte systémique, et donc interactionnel, de la séparation parentale hautement conflictuelle. Dans ce contexte, la haine est définie comme une orientation émotionnelle structurée qui essentialise l’autre et justifie son exclusion, articulée autour de trois composantes : (1) attributions négatives stables envers l’ex-partenaire, (2) vécu d’impuissance à se faire entendre ou à influencer la relation, (3) tendance à l’élimination du lien. Nous envisageons de présenter la haine comme processus graduel au travers d’une vignette clinique illustrant la trajectoire du désaccord à la haine, via des boucles d’escalade symétriques et des triangulations.
