Talks and training
I speak to professionals, students and parents about high-conflict parental separations, parenthood, and what clinical practice and research bring to each other. This page presents the themes I can speak on, my past talks and how to invite me.
I reply within 5 working days. My availability for talks is limited by my clinical and university work.
Talks and training are given in French.
Themes
When the conflict does not stop: understanding high-conflict coparenting
Some separated parents remain in intense and lasting conflict. This theme builds on the poster presented at the BAPS annual meeting in 2025: what the notion of high-conflict coparenting covers, and why a minority of separations takes up such a large share of court resources (Neff & Cooper, 2004). How can professionals describe these situations with shared reference points?
Hatred as a bond: what parental conflict says about the relationship
This theme starts from the article I published in 2026 with Jennifer Denis and Justine Gaugue in the Cahiers de psychologie clinique. The article proposes to read hatred in the interactional context of high-conflict parental separation, as a gradual process that goes from disagreement to hatred. What does a clinician encounter when working with these parents or their children?
Separating without losing the child along the way: reference points for parents
What place can be kept for the other parent when the disagreement lasts? I draw on my parent guidance work at the Espace Parents dans la Séparation in Mons, and on my article Séparation et famille : comment se séparer sans briser ? (in French).
From the consulting room to the lab, and back: the dual role of clinician-researcher
How can a clinical practice and a PhD thesis be held together? This theme deals with what the consulting room brings to research, and research to the consulting room. I addressed it in January 2026 in an online workshop of the BAPS Junior Board, From the Clinic to the Lab and Back, open to BAPS members only.
Parental burnout
I trained in parental burnout in 2022 at the Training Institute for Psychology and Health. This theme takes up the questions of my article Burnout parental (in French): what sets parental burnout apart from passing tiredness, and the signs that should alert a parent or a professional.
Clinical vignettes are anonymised and altered.
